Fancy a bit of Charlie?

According to those bods over at Sky Sports News, Liverpool are near as damn-it to submitting a £3.5 million bid for Blackpool’s influential schemer Charlie Adam (thus gazumping Blackburn, Aston Villa and Birmingham, who all had £2.5 million offers for the 25-year-old Scot turned down earlier in the week), in a bid to add some much-needed creativity to an often flaccid midfield.

Murdoch’s minions are adamant that King Kenneth will run the rule over Adam when the two sides meet in the Premier League at Bloomfield tonight in their rescheduled Boxing Day fixture, and will press the Anfield board into making a formal approach if he is impressed by what he sees.

Yay? Or, indeed, nay?

Been saying this for the last month or so. Think he could finally be the one to replace Alonso who we’ve really missed since he left. Would be a brilliant signing. He probably grew up wanting to be Kenny Dalglish aswell so you know he would give everything & really prosper under him.

If I was Charlie Adam, I would still well clear of the disaster zone that is Anfield. As for impressing Kenny Dalglish, the only person Adam is charged with impressing is his manager.

    I can’t believe he is only 25!

holloway won’t let him leave for about 4.5 million i heard. but when youre at blackpool a lot of clubs become more luxurious, for example-Liverpool

I can’t believe clubs actually think they can sign this guy for £3.5 million. I don’t follow Blackpool but the guy is crucial to them staying in the division, which is worth about £50 million or so a year in terms of revenue. So it would take a pretty special bid to buy him as selling would be suicidal on Blackpool’s part.

He is a top class midfielder and even though he only has 18 months left on his current deal he is still worth £7/8 million in this window. Obviously in the summer when he only has a year left on his current deal it becomes a totally different ball game.

yep. i dun think i will settle for anything less than 10m for him
