It’s official. We’ll have proper reaction when Pies kicks back into full swing tomorrow, but for now you’ll have to make do with the images that are starting to leak through from Cesc Fabregas’ unveiling ceremony at the Nou Camp – he’s already kissing the badge…

Thank f**k for that!

And lo, there goes ‘the greatest player Arsenal fans will never really care for’ (c/o Le Grove).

  1. Erik says:

And he did what, exactly, for Arsenal Football Club? One trophy, as a bench spectator six years ago. Cesc Fabregas, as great a player as he is, brought NO glory to Arsenal FC.

Einstein said insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result. The Youth Experiment has been an utter failure, Arsene, time for a new set of tactics.

  2. marajonna says:

Fabregas is a cunt. He shouldn’t be remembered as anything special for arsenal. He was good but with him the team stagnated, the archetypal arsenal nearly man. The symbol of 6 lost years, better off without him.

  3. Anonymous says:

@Erik: clearly his ambition is to win lots of trophies from the bench.

  4. […] compounded by the fact that he’s laying with Shakira on the regular. Barca are sitting back, unveiling Cesc to 30 odd thousand Catalans at the Nou Camp, knowing that they got themselves one of the biggest bargains in football. One of the finest […]

  5. Paul says:

When it comes time in every Arsenal player’s career to flee the nest for ‘bigger and better things’ (the wrong decision in most cases) Arsenal fans immediately turn their back and go from praising the likes of Clichy, Hleb, Gallas, Fàbregas & Co as the best player to ever been, to absolutely despising them saying they have no talent at all. However you might well be within your rights seeing as though every time you are on the cusp of developing a stronger and ‘older’ squad your players get greedy and jump ship. So what do you think of Francesc Fàbregas now…………

  6. dragan says:

    @Erik ….. TRU DAT!

  7. dc says:

I don’t understand why kissing the badge of his hometown club who he used to play for is so scandalous.

  8. gamblino says:

No one said it was scandalous. You’re scandalous!

  9. pooky says:

@Erik: Arsenal have tactics – under UEFA’s new “financial fair play” rules coming in to force in ’12-’13, clubs have to break even in order to qualify for European competitions, which means only Arsenal and a handful of the Bundesliga will be able to win the Champions League.

And now he’s reduced his team wages even more. You can’t deny Arsene Wenger is a frickin’ GENIUS!!

  10. Dave says:

    @pooky

You are sadly very mistaken, the rules do not state that clubs have to break even, no one would ever have agreed to that. Clubs are however not allowed to spend beyond their means, which is bad for sugar daddy clubs like Citeh and the Chelsea of old, but for others with a very high annual revenue like Man United or Madrid, and yes Arsenal it isn’t a problem.

    You sir are DUMB!!

  11. pooky says:

Chillax Dave, I was only attempting to suggest – tongue firmly in cheek – that we should all appreciate Arsene’s attempt to win the CL through prudent finance.

(…before the banks start foreclosing on loans and Germany is the only country left with a top-flight football league!)

  12. Shane says:

    I just can’t believe he cost £29million!

  13. JJL says:

Thank fuck for that….please let this be the last time we hear about this little shit stain. Good Riddance.

  14. Redskywalker says:

    Great pictures Chris haha.

The fat lady is supposed to sing though, not Jabba the Hutt’s wife.

  15. Chelsea Blue says:

As a neutral (ie; neither an Arse or Barca lover) in the “rights & wrongs” of the Fabregas transfer, I fail to see the logic of Barca scraping together the $ to sign a player for exactly the area of the team where they are strongest (central midfield), and leaving themselves with no other available funds to strengthen other areas of the team. Surely a right-back to match Alves on the left, a more decent back-up goalkeeper, or a quick(er)centre-half, would all arguably have strengthened them to a greater degree. All that effort for a player who walked out on them can only be explained by Catalan sentiment & pride me thinks?

  16. Griffi says:

Oh boy time for him to sit on the bench! 29 mil is ridiculous! They got Affeley who comes off the bench a lot and plays really good football for only 3 mil last season… the same amount the LA galaxy are paying for Robbie Keane… ridiculous!!!!!!

  17. DJ says:

If Arsenal could get Mata as a £20m-£23m replacement then they could be getting a similar player if not better with some money still left on top.

  18. Luke says:

Love the pictures, it was dragging on to long. Lets hope the money will be reinvested to entertain prem fans with new exciting players

Hey Cesc, don’t let that door hit your ar$e on the way out.

  21. Montesquieu says:

    I wish Cesc luck.

  22. Anabelle says:

Welcome to the bench, Cesc. Is waiting for you.
