Graham Poll given a rest

Graham ‘F**king’ Poll has been taken out of the Premiership spotlight to protect him from press scrutiny, according to reports.
The official line is that Poll is on annual leave, but the Daily Mail (a reputable source of course) claims that Poll has been prevented from refereeing this weekend and during next week’s busy midweek fixture list after the furore following Chelsea’s defeat to Spurs.

Poll was accused of telling Chelsea players that they needed to be "taught a lesson" before sending off John Terry for a second bookable offence. Oh, as well as sharing in some fruity language with the England captain.
In his first game after that incident, Poll then sent off James McFadden, a decision that prompted another media inquisition.
To avoid a repeat of that situation, Poll has been removed from the firing line and is said to be ‘distraught’ that his impartiality has been questioned. Is Poll past it? Should he be retired to the lower leagues? Or has he still got what it takes to cut it in the Premier League? [Mof Gimmers]
