‘Twas the first legs of the semi-finals of the Europa League last night, the first of which saw Atletico Madrid beat Valencia 4-2 at the Vincente Calderon to rack up a healthy aggregate lead (those away goals could still prove costly mind) for the return leg at the Mestalla next week.

Falcao made it 27 goals in 27 Europa League matches with a brace (the second being the goal of the night, pinging one in off the bar from 18 yards), with Miranda and Adrian Lopez also scoring for the home side; a tap-in from Jonas and a 95-minute header from Riccardo Costa doing the damage for Los Che.

We’ll have photos up from Sporting Lisbon vs Athletic Bilbao as soon as they come down the wire.

He’s like than anti-agbonlahor. Not much pace but amazing technique.
Either that or the defender is road runner quick.

    And that’s his weaker foot.

    Dear Atletico Madrid’s Jersey,

I know you dont have sponsor logos because you are poor, but can’t you agree it looks a hell of a lot better without them?

    Sincerely,
    A football fan

    @ dc

    155% absolutely agree with you.

I bought a Atletico Falcao jersey just for this reason (that, and the guy is the 3rd best attacking player in the world right now imo.)
