We seem to have enjoyed a real slew of looooooong-range boomers recently (not least this humdinger from AIK’s Alexander Milosevic), but Stefan Ishizaki’s awesome effort for Elfsborg in their 2-0 away win over Orebro in the Swedish Allsvenskan yesterday.
With the Orebro goalkeeper yomping out to clear a throughball, Ishizaki launched the ball back from whence it came – with the volley popping up and over the stranded ‘keeper before nestling in the goal 70 metres later…
Ishizaki’s boomer has been likened to the volley that Dejan Stankovic clattered home against Schalke in the Champions League last year, though *whisper it* but we think this one shades The Stank’s mammoth effort considering the angles involved.
Feel free to compare and contrast…
