In the aftermath of England’s 1-0 win against Ukraine at Euro 2012, Match of the Day’s back-slapping, in-joking gaggle of pundits were analysing the Three Lions’ lucky win when all of a sudden, Alan Shearer butts in when Lee Dixon is still speaking. Cue a rather pissed off response from the former Arsenal man (around 35 seconds).

Dixon gestures, in a small but perfectly formed manner, to Lineker but nothing is done to stop this utter injustice. Sickening.

Shearer is the the most obnoxious pundit! My pet hate is when he ends a sentance with “for me” then pushes his lips together, leans back and gives his head a little wobble. Dont mind him in all, but that realy grinds my gears.

  2. Ben says:

Dixon is the best pundit on BBC but Shearer was right to butt in there I think.. seemed like Dixon was having an off day saying nothing really in those 30 seconds.

  3. Alan says:

And that’s why he’s on the sidelines now. Dixon was always the better pundit anyway!

  4. Joe says:

Lucky win? If Rooney was in form, it would’ve been 3-0.

  5. Rick says:

God Joe you certainly have read up on all your tabloids and watched the 35 second “good rooney goals” clip on youtube for that comment. Rooney will never be on form, he’s sh*te. He’ll always be sh*te, england has been waiting 7 or 8 years for him to be on form but everyone needs to wake up and smell the cold hard truth, he is s.h.i.t.e

  6. plops says:

Shearer is a very, very dull man. Him and Hansen say the same shit every week. Dixon actually has something interesting to at times.

Re: what el_gilbo said about “for me”. Why do people even say that? We know that’s your opinion because that’s what you’ve just said.

  7. John says:

I agree with Ben. I like dixon a lot but he was dribbling nothing for 30 seconds. Shearer saved him there.

  8. Garth Crooks says:

Ben and John know the score our Dix was dying a death there

  9. Jarren says:

@Rick: What planet you on, mate? Rooney shite?

He was a bit out of form in the last few months with United, and his passing is yet to return to form, but that’s hardly reason to write him off.

He’s world class. A game changer, a game winner.
