The Greek league game between Panionios and OFI Kreta was remarkable for a couple of reasons. firstly, all three of the goals scored were officially listed as own-goals and, secondly, the first own-goal of the night (scored by OFI’s Mirnes Sisic) was a truly extraordinary example of the art – with the Slovenian winger sending a defensive clearance into the night sky almost directly vertically, only for ‘keeper Stefanos Gounaridis to fumble it into his net upon re-entry, presumably due to the fact that it came down with ice on it…
