Great news for all the dog lovers/staunch anti-intolerable moron brigade out there: Enzo Jimenez, the Argentinian footballer who attempted to chuck a pitch-invading dog over the stadium fencing by its neck, has had his contract terminated by his club.
Jimenez’s (former) employers, Club Sportivo Bella Vista, issued the following statement last night (apologies if our translation is a bit shonky):
“The Executive Committee of Club Sportivo Bella Vista [have decided that], by throwing violently a dog that had entered the field of play while the game was in progress, our club cannot protect the human and sporting image of Jose Antonio Jimenez, which has been damaged by his incomprehensible attitude.
“In accordance with the Committee’s Book of Proceedings, we have cancelled his registration from our roster.”
Well played that Executive Committee!
