Scoring your first career goal is always likely to be a joyous occasion and when Internacional’s Maurides bagged his first ever goal in the 89th minute against America Mineiro in the Copa do Brasil last night, you could forgive him for going a little OTT in celebration.

Having added the third goal in a 3-1 victory for Inter, Maurides celebrated with a backflip. However, the 19-year-old striker landed awkwardly, sprained his knee and had to be taken off for the final few minutes of the game, despite having only just come on for Deigo Forlan eight minutes earlier…

Safe to say, he’s not going to forget his first career goal in a hurry – at least not until the swelling goes down!

It’s about time a player injures themselves by celebrating OTT. You hate to see a player get injured, but they are just asking for if when doing this.
