Trevor Sinclair, Footballer scores with a scissor-kick for QPR v Barnsley 3:1.

There are certain things that Pies will just never tire of watching: Jose Feliciano is full flight, that scene in “A Good Woman” when Scarlet Johannson is crawling round on the floor, the Toronto Raptors mascot trying to roller-skate down stairs and Trevor Sinclair’s perfectly executed bicycle kick in the FA Cup against Barnsley in 1997…

Sweet as a Jawgia peach! 16 years old and still as beautiful as the day it was bor…hang on, we better stop that particular sentence before we wind up on some kind of register.

Anyway, we only bring up Sinclair’s acrobatic masterpiece as, now aged 40, Trev has been demonstrating that he very much “still got it”, scoring a lovely little pastiche of his Barnsley-basher during a testimonial game for long-serving Man City kitman Les “Chappy” Chapman at Edgely Park yesterday…

Proof that you never lose it, it just takes you slightly longer to get back up again afterwards.

Thats still the best goal Ive ever seen.

Was Rob Green in goal for the testimonial?

Same here – will always be my favourite. What a legend!

If you’re going to spell it phonetically with a southern US accent, it’s just ‘Jawga’ – the i is silent.

  4. Jarren says:

    Indeed, great technique.

Fair play to the keeper, a good sport to let it in.

I was at the game vs. Barnsley at Loftus Road and saw that goal with my own eyes. What a goal it was. Even better…Andy Impey’s right hook that earned him a red card in the same game! Without that I don’t think Sinclair would have attempted this ridiculous effort, as we would have had eleven on the pitch and he may have been more ‘reserved’.
