Petrolul Ploiesti 2-1 Swansea City (3-6 agg) – Europa League Qualifiers – 29th August 2013

Starting with a mix of first and reserve team players, Michael Laudrup successfully guided his Swansea side through the tie overall, despite losing 2-1 to Petrolul Ploiesti in Romania.

All the goals came late one, with Swansea’s Roland Lamah goal on 74 minutes cancelling out Njongo Priso’s strike just a minute earlier. The home side did manage to score again, courtesy of Hamza Younes put his goal was in vain, with the Swans romping away with a 6-3 aggregate victory.

One negative for Laudrup and co. was the red card dished out to stand-in captain Leon Britton late on for two bookable offences. However, the Welsh side can now look forward to tomorrow’s Group Stage draw.
