Macedonia 2-1 Wales – World Cup Qualifiers – 6th September 2013

With the ubiguitous Gareth Bale on the bench, Chris Coleman’s Wales failed to secure a vital win in Macedonia, going down 2-1 in Skopje as their hopes of making it to Brazil finally ended.

Ivan Trickovski opened the scoring after a scrappy free-kick before Aaron Ramsey’s dribble into the host’s box ended in the in-form Arsenal man winning a penalty. Ramsey fired home the spot-kick but after the break, Aleksandar Trajkovski netted a late winner to kill off the Welsh dream.
