We begin the morning’s frivolities in the Brazilian Serie D, more specifically Sunday’s promotion play-off game between Aparecidense and Tupi.
With the first leg finishing 1-1 and the second leg level at 2-2 with just one minute of normal time to play (meaning that Aparecidense were seconds away from winning on away goals), Tupi broke up the pitch and looked almost certain to pinch it at the death only for the home side’s masseur to sneak around the post, into the goalmouth and duly shut down the opposing striker with a sprawling double save!
Despite the masseur then legging it from the field while being chased by a pack of irate Tupi players, the save was deemed legit by the (one would assume) visually-impaired officials and Aparecidense advanced to the next stage of the play-offs.
Tupi, you’ll no doubt be surprised to learn, are in the process of hiring themselves a lawyer.
