As you may have seen, Kaka lasted for about an hour of his second Milan debut against Torino at the weekend before going off with a thigh injury. Initial reports suggested that he’s only be nursing the strain for a matter of days, though Gazzetta dello Sport have since confirmed that Milan’s prodigal son will be sidelined for at least a month with a tear in his left thigh muscle.

Well, Ricky being Ricky, he’s now issued a video statement to Milan fans to announce that he won’t accept a penny of his salary and that all he needs is “the love and affection” of the fans until he’s back and fighting fit once again…

Here’s the important bits of the translation in case the captions aren’t working for any reason…

“I have spoken at length with the club and in the end I decided that I don’t want anything from Milan except love and support until I’m fully fit and ready to play.

“So I have decided to not to be paid for this period of time. The only thing that I ask is the support and help to recover in the best way.

“I have started my rehabilitation and the support from [the fans] and everything I have heard in the last couple of days really drives me on and makes me determined to come back as soon as possible.”

Good egg, that Kaka lad.
