Seconds after using his face to viciously hack down Heerenveen winger Luciano Slagveer (now there’s a name you can set your watch by!) in the 11th minute, Groningen defender Timo Letschert was shown a red card for his troubles.
Safe to say he took it quite badly, as the Dutch centre-half then fainted on the spot and had to be stretchered off the pitch…
Marco van Basten’s Heerenveen side went on to win 4-2, though both sides had a further player sent-off in a fractious game that had more cards than your local Clintons.
Letschert was given a three-game ban for his vicious knee-high headbutt on Slagveer, though the defender has the right to appeal – assuming he can now see straight again, of course.
