What we have here is a short featurette entitled ‘Saturday Fever’ which is one of over 500 episodic ‘Look at Life’ documentaries that were screened in Odeon cinemas before the main feature began back in the early 60s and which all focused on various aspects of contemporary British life.
Saturday Fever gives a wonderful insight into just how matchday looked in England at the beginning of the 1960/61 season through the eyes of football fans, featuring clips from Tottenham vs Man City and footage of Wolves, Cardiff and Celtic fans arriving at their respective games with the late, great Cliff Michelmore on commentary duty…
