Soccer - UEFA Champions League - Group F - Bayern Munich v Helsingborg

We’ve seen a steady slew of goalkeeper goals over the past few days so we figured it high time to remind the world of the greatest ever scored: the proper goalie goal smashed home by Bayern Munich’s former in-house albino gorilla, Oliver Kahn, who dipped into his vast goalkeeping skillset to smash in this beauty against Hansa Rostock back in 2001.

It’s also worth noting that Bayern were trailing 3-2 at this point, with just a few seconds of normal time left to play…

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL!!!!!!*

*Unsurprisingly, the “hand tor” was immediately disallowed with Kahn being shown a second yellow card and duly being sent-off by referee Marcus Merk for his troubles.

Speaking after the game, Kahn refused to accept criticism for his brainfart, jokingly telling Bild: “”It was merely a reflex which is there in all goalkeepers.”
