Brazil resolutely spanked South Africa in Johannesburg last night, winning 0-5 in a friendly courtesy of a Neymar hat-trick and a goal apiece from Oscar and Fernandinho.

There were also touching scenes when Neymar stopped a teeny tiny pitch invader from being hauled off by the South African stewards after the final whistle when the Barcelona forward ran over, picked the little lad up and carried him around the pitch for a short while; taking him over to meet the rest of the Brazilian players before giving him the VIP treatment – including a souvenir photograph taken by none other than David Luiz…

Neymar then posted the following clip on his Instagram page after the game…

Indeed, Globoesporte managed to track down the young encroacher after the game, identifying him as seven-year-old Ayo Dosumu, who told the Brazilian news outlet that he “felt very happy” about meeting Neymar and the rest of the Brazilian squad.

Ayo’s father, Shola, was also interviewed, adding: “My son is now an idol. I didn’t even realize when he ran out then I had to go and get him. It was a great thrill.”

    I can fully say that this has completely changed my opinion of Neymar. I fully thought he was a twat. Now, not so much anymore.

    @Hasselhof

    I agree completely and I just thought the same thing. I thought he was a douche but that was a wicked, classy move of him!

    I was thinking much the same. Not that I disliked him before, exactly, but still.
