The “pitch invader selfie” (oh, how we’ve come to loathe that word) is definitely the footballing fad of the summer friendlies, with several fans interrupting last night’s game between Real Madrid and Roma by bursting onto the pitch, cameras gormlessly held in front of their faces in search of photographic mementos.

Indeed, a large gaggle of young fans (roughly 30 people) delayed the latter stages of the game by 10 minutes when they ran onto the pitch simultaneously; waving flags, shaking players’ hands and generally dicking about while disrupting things for everyone else.

One Real Madrid fan even pounced for a “s*****” with Isco while the midfielder sat on the ground wearily waiting for the pitch invaders to bugger off…

Boy, I’m so fucking tired of hearing about stupid fucking s**fies and I feel like we’re not even at the low-point with them. I hope it becomes international law that you can stab, shoot, or bludgeon anyone you see taking one.
