Not that we expected much in the first place, but Kazakhstan and Latvia toiled their way to a thoroughly unspectacular 0-0 draw in their opening Euro 2016 qualifying fixture in Astana on Tuesday evening, with the game providing little in the way of anything.
However, there was one point of interest that came just off the pitch, with one of the linesman requiring medical attention after being well and truly poleaxed by a Latvian substitute.
How the collision came about isn’t overly clear from the slightly naff footage available, but it would seem that the unsuspecting official turned to sprint down the touchline only to run face-first into the sub’s shoulder.
