In internet terms we’re about an entire geologic period late with this one being as it happened a full three days ago (shameful, we know), but we’ve only just stumbled across it and couldn’t quite believe our eyes.
Anyway for the benefit of those who haven’t seen it yet, this plain-as-day sumo suplex from Bradford City defender Rory McArdle on Sheffield United’s Stefan Scougall somehow went completely unpunished by referee Simon Hooper despite looking more like Yokozuna’s finisher than an attempted tackle…
Sheffield went on to win the game 0-2, so thankfully Scougall wasn’t left too disheartened by the baffling injustice on show – though he was left nursing a bit of a sore neck by all accounts…
To be honest, we’re not overly surprised.
