Bayern Munich cruised to a routine 1-3 away victory over Hamburg in the DFB Pokal last night though the night wasn’t completely without incident, with a scarf-wielding fan doing Franck Ribery a bit of a mischief right at the end of the game.
With the final whistle imminent, the moronic fan ran right across the pitch and caught Ribery in the face with his scarf before attempting to provoke the Bayern winger shortly after the Frenchman had scored his side’s third goal of the evening…
Ribery was fairly blasé about the whole thing after the game, telling German reporters: “Fortunately, nothing much happened.”
But what if the Hamburg fan was holding a live WW2 hand grenade or an antique pitchfork dipped in strychnine, cyanide and arsenic?
We shudder to think.
