Southampton’s Champions League hopes took a hit at St. Mary’s on Sunday, with visitors Swansea securing a hard-fought 1-0 win.

The hosts had the larger share of possession on the day as James Ward-Peowse amongst others, went close for Ronald Koeman’s man. However, the Swans were well organised, and despite struggled to create many chances tjhey eventually took the lead late on. Jonjo Shelvey was the goal-hero for Garry Monk’s men, with the midfielder  firing home a 25-yard cracker on 83 minutes to secure the Swans first win away at Southampton in 62 years.
