Saturday saw a pretty grizzly horror tackle in the Scottish Championship, with Livingston captain Jason Talbot connecting with an extremely painful flailing high boot to the face of Hearts midfielder Sam Nicholson.

The collision left Nicholson with a face full of stud marks and in need of several stitches, but referee Brian Colvin only saw fit to issue Tablot with a yellow card at the time…

This was the scrawked and blood-flecked aftermath of the “tackle”…

Yeesh.

However, according to BBC Scotland, after reviewing footage of the incident, an SFA compliance officer is now set to speak to referee Colvin about the foul and the punishment metered out.

Compliance officers have the power to issue retrospective punishment if they deem necessary.

We obviously can’t say for sure, but something tells us he may well deem it necessary in this case.
