England women went down 1-0 against Canada in their final World Cup warm-up friendly against the hosts out in Ontario last night, with Sophie Schmidt’s goal proving the difference between the two sides.

And a beauty it was too, with Schmidt displaying a lovely bit of technique to sweep the ball past England ‘keeper Karen Bardsley from 25 yards with a sensational first-time strike.

It’s the view from behind the goal that’s really worth waiting for. Slap, bang in that top corner…

So fluid. Bet she didn’t even feel that come off her foot.

Go on girl, give yourself a thumbs-up…

Just for the record, England begin their 2015 World Cup campaign with a bit of a baptism of fire against hotly-rated France side on 9th June.

Good grief pies. The 18 yard box is called that to make it easy for you. Did you even bother to look at the video? The strike was good enough without adding 7 yards to it.
