Coming hot on the heels of Germany’s 10-0 opening game win against Cote d’Ivoire, Switzerland batted minnows Ecuador on Friday night.

Pool old Angie Ponce netted two own-goals although the youngster did get a hat-trick of sorts when she scored a penalty on 64 minutes, which was her country’s first-ever goal a World Cup finals tournament.

Switzerland’s Fabienne Humm netted the fastest hat-trick in the history of the competition (between the 47th and 52nd minute) as the Europeans coasted to victory. While Ramona Bachmann also bagged herself three.

The game also equalled the record for most goals scored in a single Women’s World Cup game, equalling Germany’s 11-0 drubbing of Argentina in 2011.

Ecuador remain rock bottom of Group C with a -15 goal difference while the Swiss move into second, with Japan beating Cameroon 2-1.

I’ve seen better play down the park on a saturday afternoon with dads & their kids.

This is why I pretty much don’t watch women’s sports. The disparity from top to bottom, or even top to middle, is so severe that the games often are a disgrace.

They keep on trying to push women’s college basketball in the U.S. There are around 5 teams at the top, then a bunch of very, very bad teams.

I don’t care who is playing, but I do care about watching quality sports. 10-0 in the World Cup!!??? I can only imagine the scores in qualifying rounds.

Just watched some “highlights.” Where in the fuck did they find the central defender? She spends more time calling for offsides than defending. What shite.

I play pickup twice a week and I’m 35 years old. I think I’d have a very good chance of making the Ecuadorian side. Fuck, they’re baaaad.
