‘Twas the Football Blogging Awards in Manchester last night and, as a little bit of after-dinner entertainment, those in attendance were treated to a hot blast of John Barnes’ rap realness.
Much to the delight of everybody, Barnes took Sky Sports News presenter Bianca Westwood by the hand and serenaded all and sundry with another rendition of his very own version of The Sugarhill Gang’s classic hip-hop anthem “Rapper’s Delight”.
Up jump the boogie to the rhythm of the boogie, the beat….
We often wonder if Barnes ever tires of having to rap on demand, but the broad smile etched on his face every time seems to suggest otherwise.
What a hero.
