PSG’s hopes of going the full Ligue 1 season unbeaten ended on Sunday night, with the all-conquering Parisians losing 2-1 away at Lyon.

Going into the game at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais having won 23 and drawn four of this 27 league games this season, Laurent Blanc’s petro-chem giants were expecting to extend their unbeaten run to 28.

However, an early strike from Maxwel Cornet followed by a beautiful goal from Sergi Darder (check out the first touch!) gave Les Gones a 2-0 lead at the break…

In the second-half, PSG rallied and got one back through Brazilian winger Lucas Moura. However, the hosts hung on to inflict a first defeat on the runaway league leaders.  The game also saw Italian international Thiago Motta appear to hit Jordan Ferri smack in the face, only to escape a red card…

The win sees Lyon move up to third in the table, while PSG, despite losing, stay a rather cushy 23 points clear at the top.
