Let’s all blame Manuel Neuer for this! On Sunday night against Sporting Braga, former Real Madrid great Iker Casillas made a right mess of the ‘sweeper-keeper’ role, going walkabout for no apparent reason and duly conceding an embarrassing late goal which handed Braga a 3-1 win,
With the ball lofted forwards to midfielder Alan, Casillas decided to race 40 yards up the pitch to challenge the Braga man, despite Porto having enough bodies to stem the attack. Then, after missing the ball, Casillas could only watch as Alan fired the ball into the back of his net from long-range…

To be fair to Casillas, he has been in fine form for Porto this season although the defeat sees the Dragons stay in third place, six points behind Primeira Liga leaders Benfica. Still, what a magnificent howler from the 34-year-old!
