Italian band Marcilo Agro – or more specifically, the band’s football-related side project, Marcilo Agro FC – have managed the astonishing feat of turning a Guardian column into a haunting, lilting acoustic ballad.

The article in question is Barney Ronay’s treatise on Leicester City (‘Don’t Call Leicester A Fairytale – You’ll Miss What They’re Doing‘) written back in January, in which the Guardian scribe implored neutral fans to give the flying Foxes the full and proper credit they are so undeniably due.

MAFC picked up the article and transformed it into a song, cherry-picking passages (“It’s intelligence, application, good coaching”) and producing this lovely little ditty as a result…

According to the Guardian, Marcilo Agro list songs about Paolo Di Canio refusing to join Manchester United amongst their canon and their next project is a ballad centred around the wacky world of Louis van Gaal.

We can hardly wait. We suggest you keep an eye on them over at their official Facebook page.
