Ahead of their El Clasico clash with Real Madrid on Saturday night, Barcelona paid tribute to the recently departed Johan Cruyff with a fabulous display at the Nou Camp.

The Dutchman, a Barca legend as both player and coach, was the architect of much of the club’s success over the past 30 or so years. And the Catalan giants’ tribute was rather beautiful.

As for the game itself, it was another iconic player-turned-coach, Zinedine Zidane who would oversee a hard-fought 2-1 win with Real Madrid, despite having Sergio Ramos sent off (again) via two bookings.

Gerard Pique gave the hosts the lead on 56 minutes befor Karim Benzema equalised courtesy of a fine overhead kick. Gareth Bale then had a goal chalked off rather harshly, for a push before Ramos saw red.

However, soon after (on 85 minutes), Cristiano Ronaldo fired home the winner, a winner which ended Barca’s incredible 39-game unbeaten run.

Luis Enrique’s charges still find themselves nicely placed at the top of La Liga, six points clear of Atletico Madrid, with Real Madrid seven points behind the leaders.

Here’s the highlights…
