They don’t make ’em like that any more

There can be nothing finer in this world that a satisfyingly crap passage of 90’s football and the example we’ve stumbled across today is one of the very crappest.

The particular vignette in question came during a lively old First Division ding-dong between Ipswich Town and Tranmere Rovers circa 1995/96.

There really is a little something in there for all tastes: from the vintage Joe Bloggs advertising hoardings, to a spectacularly botched backheel, to an awful lot of questionable defending all the way through to the big own-goal finish…

Oh yes. Bravo sirs.

    Surprisingly this wasn’t the worst game played between us and Tranmere. I remember a midweek game once (I forget the year though) and it was the most boring 0-0 ever witnessed. Although it livened up after the game as I remember my Dad being asked by a prostitute if he wanted ‘any’. Bearing in mind I was about 11 at the time and he was holding my hand. Oh Ipswich, I love thee
