There were truly touching scenes in the Eredivisie on Sunday when thousands of Feyenoord fans put on a special display of solidarity for midfielder Tonny Vilhena, who recently lost his mother.
The supporters used sparklers to illuminate De Kuip as Vilhena came out onto the pitch before the game against PEC Zwolle.
The stadium also sang the Dutch club’s anthem, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, in unison as a tribute to Jeannette Vilhena, who sadly passed away on 30th October after a long battle with illness.
