Real Madrid dropped to second in the La Liga table after Zinedine Zidane’s side could only draw 3-3 at home to Las Palmas.
A major factor in the draw at the Bernabeu was the second–half sending off of Welsh superstar Gareth Bale, on St. David’s Day of all days.
With the score 1-1 after the first period, former Tottenham star Bale was initally shown yellow for a cynical kick from behind on Jonathan Viera.
However, within seconds of the booking, the 27-year-old was off after losing his cool and shoving Viera, who had been remonstrating with the Welsh superstar.

With a man-advantage, Las Palmas would eventually go 3-1 up, via goals from Viera, with a penalty and Kevin Prince-Boateng.
However, a certain Cristiano Ronaldo wouldn’t let the game die, netting two late goals, one courtesy of a spot-kick, to at least get the home side a share of the points.
With Barcelona beating Sporting Gijon 6-1, Los Merengues drop to second in the table, one point behind the Catalans.
However, Zidane’s men still have a game in hand as the Spanish top-flight season heads towards a dramatic finale.
