Spain’s supremely gifted youngsters produced a super display of attacking in their European Championship U21 clash with Macedonia on Saturday.
Real Madrid starlet Marco Asensio netted a fabulous hat-trick but it was Atletico midfielder Saul Niguez who opened the scoring via a fantastic overhead kick on 10 minutes
Six minutes later, Asencio got his first of the game, producing an exquisite long-range finish after Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu saw his initial effort blocked.
Deulofeu added a penalty on 35 minutes, with Asensio completing his hat-trick via two second-half goals, the second of which was an absolute screamer.
Quite a decent smorgasbord of goals there! And what a talent Asensio is.
Spain’s future certainly looks bright. Again.
