The photograph you see before you is of KV Mechelen goalkeeper Colin Coosemans very much occupying his natural habitat: getting down to make a save within the comfortable, familiar environs of his own 18-yard box.
However, with Mechelen trailing 2-1 against Royal Excel Mouscron in the Belgian top flight on Saturday evening, Coosemans went rogue.
With the clock having just ticked over into the 93rd minute, the intrepid goalkeeper took a leap into the wild unknown by going up for a late corner.
Finding himself with the ball at his feet heading away from goal, Coosemans attempted to beat a man with a step-over, lost possession, quickly won it back and then provided the low cross that Elias Cobbaut steered home to equalise at the very death…
Very shortly thereafter, the match ended 2-2, with Mechelen harvesting an important point to put a little more distance between themselves and the bottom recesses of the Pro League.
You’ve got to love a play-making goalie.
