A Kemar Roofe hat-trick earned Leeds United all three points away to QPR on Saturday.
However, while the Leeds striker put on a superb individual display, at the other end of the pitch, ‘keeper Felix Wiedwald blotted the visitors’ copybook with an appalling and quite bizarre error late on.
With the game into the last minute of normal time, and Leeds 2-0 up, Hoops’ defender Pawel Wszolek knocked the ball high into the box after a corner had been cleared.
However, rather than simply come and collect the ball, Wiedwald was somehow bamboozled by the bounce of the ball, letting it fly over his head and into the back of the net, despite his desperate attempts to keep it out.
A rather magnificent howler!
Thankfully for Wiedwald, teammate Roofe would score again to give Leeds a precious 3-1 away win.
Thomas Christiansen’s side go seventh, four points off a play-off place, while QPR are 19th, six points above the drop-zone.
