Though they had to come from behind, Glasgow Rangers eventually ended up thrubbing Ayr United to the tune of 6-1 in the Scottish FA Cup this weekend.

Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos helped himself to a couple of goals on the day, but he really should have scored at least thrice.

Unfortunately, with Rangers still trailing by a goal in the early knockings, the 21-year-old was somehow unable to convert a low cross that found him stationed a yard or two out from a completely open net without anybody around to distract him…

Horrid. Just… horrid.

Indeed, Morelos’ dreadful howler has already been mentioned in the same breath as the low benchmark for awful Rangers misses: Peter van Vossen’s legendarily bad effort against Celtic in 1996…

Comparisons really don’t come much more unflattering than that.

Poor chap.

To his credit, look at the potato field they’re playing on. I’m sure even Messi would miss once in a while if he played on dirt

I have to agree here, the ball clearly bounces off in that potato field before reaching him. It is dreadful to look at, but I’m calling more bad luck that bad skill.

He’s a real diamond in the rough. But give him credit he went on to score 2 goals and that evening went down on one knee and proposed to his wife – Lady Williamstown von Glühweinstappelstraß III. Many congrats to him!
