The honours were split evenly in the AFC Champions League group stage match between Al Ahli and Al Gharafa on Tuesday, with the two sides grinding out a 1-1 draw in Jeddah.
It was striker Mehdi Taremi who opened the scoring for Al Gharafa in the second half, but not before he’d made an absolute dog’s dinner of an open goal with just 18 minutes on the clock…
Yeesh. Shame about that injury coming on so suddenly at such an inopportune time. Really made it difficult to score that ridiculously easily chance.
As previously mentioned, Taremi went on to successfully break the deadlock in the 56th minute, only for Momen Zakaria to pull one back for Al Ahli less than 120 seconds later.
