While they remain 17 points clear at the top of Ligue 1, poor old PSG saw their four-match winning streak come to a shuddering halt against Saint Etienne on Friday night.

Former Newcastle employee Remy Cabella put the home side ahead in the 16th minute and that’s the way it stood until the 92nd minute, when former Arsenal employee Mathieu Debuchy put one through his own net to equalise for the Parisians.

However, shortly beforehand, Edinson Cavani was presented with the most straightforward of chances to level the score when a quick counter-attack saw Angel Di Maria square the ball to the Uruguayan striker to tap into a completely vacant net.

Unfortunately, Cavani was unable to oblige…

For one of the most predatory strikers in world football, Cavani can be awfully sloppy in front of goal sometimes.

Still, with 35 goals in 41 appearances under his belt so far this season, we doubt it’ll knock his confidence too much.
