After getting hauled off before half-time in his previous outing, Sheffield United midfielder Lee Evans wasted little time making amends with a couple of scorching goals against Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening.

Evans, who arrived from Wolves in February, scored both goals in a shock(ish) 2-1 win over Boro at Bramall Lane.

The fun began with just two minutes on the clock as the Welshman just casually side-footed a volley into the top corner from 20-odd yards out to open the scoring…

Then, five minutes before the break (roughly the same point he was subbed off against Barnsley at the weekend), Evans popped up to rattle home another volley to put the Blades 2-0 up…

Well met, sir.

Daniel Ayala pulled one back for he visitors shortly after the restart, but United held on to register an impressive win that moves them to within a point of Boro (who are seventh) in the Championship table.
