Richarlison got off the mark with a couple of decent goals on his full international debut as Brazil pasted El Salvador five goals to nowt in Maryland (where else?) on Tuesday night.

It took Neymar just four minutes to open the scoring from the spot before Richarlison added a second roughly 10 minutes later, the Everton forward sending a measured long-range finish over Henry Hernandez from the edge of the box…

Philippe Countinho put Brazil 3-0 up with half-an-hour gone before Richarlison scored again to make it four shortly thereafter.

Just as an attacking move was beginning to peter out, the 21-year-old reacted quickly to finish it off with a sharp, low finish…

Marquinhos then sealed the deal with a fifth and final goal in the 90th minute.

So, after getting on for 15 minutes against the USA last Friday, that’s now two goals in two appearances for Richarlison at international level and a kooky pigeon dance to celebrate.

Who knows, maybe this is the start of him actually convincing us that he’s a £50million-calibre player, whatever that actually means in this day and age.
