Reading defender goes berserk in Championship play-off
After being sent off for a terrible stamp on Burnley’s Robbie Blake, Reading’s Andre Bikey went loco, tearing off his shirt and stampeding around the pitch in a manner that made Didier Drogba’s rant seem tame.
Bikey will now miss tomorrow’s decisive second leg at the Madejski Stadium, with Reading trailing 1-0 after the first leg at Turf Moor.
“The red card was fully deserved – there is no defence whatsoever,” said Steve Coppell, Reading’s boss. “We just don’t accept that at our club. It was a hugely emotional reaction given the five minutes he had had. You have got to remember he was fouled first [by Blake] but there is still no excuse for his behaviour.”
