Spotted before the USA’s friendly with Argentina in New Jersey (read: America’s arsehole) on Saturday evening, a rowdy fan – presumably still irate over not getting to string Tojo up himself – interrupts the pre-game minute’s silence for Japan with cries of ‘USA, USA!’ and ‘Konichiwa Bitches!’ while hundreds more supporters continue to chatter away in the background…

    Absolute fucking twats!

  2. Veej says:

Disgraceful! how would they like it if fans chanted “9/11” every time they played? Fools!

  3. Goaltastic says:

    Absolutely disgusting.

  4. Joe Grohowski says:

Dont call New Jersey America’s asshole u cunt.

  5. Mark says:

Who gives a shit? The entire crowd is talking.

  6. Tank says:

    @Veej

People do on occasion and then they throw batteries at the players. Seriously.

Guy is a fucking douche no doubt, but seriously guys. It’s just a moment of silence at a football game. It amazes me that all it take is one idiot to overshadow the fact that there are countless American volunteers in Japan. That’s not even mentioning the Navy strike group sent in. Over 5000 people on the USS Ronald Reagan alone.

I give it a week before those crazy kids on 4chan find out who this guy is and make him regret that he was ever born.

  7. Tank says:

    @Joe Grohowski.

Why can’t he call new jersey Americas asshole?

You do realize that the rest we (The United States of America) took a vote and it was decided so. Right?

You can’t make this stuff up Joe.

  8. Swerve says:

Im from NJ, we arent the asshole. Its the Armpit of America. Now i cringed when i saw it too..Theres douchebags all over the world. Scouser Munich chants, United Hillsbough chant, Crawley town guy with the airplane gestures..its what it is..

  9. :) says:

veej is right. absolute disgrace. i’d like to see how this son of a bitch rected in the crowd if that happened to the US fans. needs a kick in the head, and i call dibs.

  10. ben says:

scummy yank cunt and they wonder why there so fucking hated!!!

  11. Montesquieu says:

So, when England chants about how they destroyed Argentina in the Falkland Wars or how the Germans lost the war, it’s not the same? Just like the Munich disaster or Hillsborough; the chants, songs and often physical evidence of the controversial and in bad taste symbolism is a dark part of the game. The part of the game where one can get away with not just making disperaging remarks about gays, but can go to the length that they would in any other public place be likely arrested for making serious threats.

Get over your high horse, America may be hated, but no one outside of the Commonwealth (and even within it) has a lot of love for Britain.

  12. C says:

USA is the asshole of the earth.

  13. I don’t think its about chants or songs, its 1 minute, 1 minute of silence and of respect. was that not possible? was this guy that psyched to see landon donovan?

  14. Dan says:

    As a New Jersey-ite, I am embarrassed.

  15. Uncle Sam says:

The English make me laugh. Some asshole yells something and all the US are “cunts”? you wanks have big English balls to complain about anybody with the way the English empire has occupied half the world only to get their asses kicked out of these places. Or the way they single handedly tired to wipe the Irish off the map(fuck Margaret Thatcher). Just remember my English friends that asshole who stupidly yelled out, his Great Great Great Great Grandfather kicked your English asses out of America about 230 years ago.

  16. Jon says:

Not really trying to get in a yelling match but this is pretty disgusting no matter who said it. I have watched quite a few matches in the Premier League since the earthquake/tsunami and there have been many moments of silence and I can only think of a couple that were observed by all. Sounds like pot calling the kettle black. Problem was that the UK media are smart enough (and have learned through experience) not to mic the crowd directly during these moments. I was there and I didn’t hear much of anything during the moment of silence.

Also, lets talk about the Scottish fans at the Emrites that threw a banana and hurled racist abuse at Neymar throughout the Brazil v Scotland match. Point: One person being a fucking cunt does not represent the whole population (or group of fans). The world may be full of different nationalities but we all have our tasteless pricks (pause).

  17. The Dude says:

How many more Italians do English fans need to kill before they become “the asshole of the earth?”

  18. Tanya says:

Now I feel bad about being an American football fan. I somewhat think that they now deserve to have Lampard making jokes about 9/11.

Let’s not get racist here by saying Americans are cunts and the English are wankers, the bottom line is that guy deserves to have an octopus take a giant octo-dump in his mouth.

  19. V says:

The other day I saw this montage with hundreds of posted comments on facebook and twitter by american users and they were all like “karma for Pearl Harbour”.

    Really?

  20. hollis says:

To all of our American friends who can’t get enough of cockney rhyming slang:

Let’s take the word SEPTIC. Septic is a fantastic word that can be used in rhyming slang to describe an underclass of peoples. In ordinary English it is used to describe a condition created by disease causing organisms, or anything related to purification.

    So let’s all follow along!

    SEPTIC
    derives from
    SEPTIC TANK
    TANK rhymes with
    _ _ _ _

(quick clue for some of the slower Septics out there, starts with a “Y”)

  21. Rob says:

    Uncle Sam,
his Great Great Great Great Grandfather must be so proud.

  22. RyanSSL says:

I am American and love the Japanese. These guys were drunk 20′ year old idiots trying to be funny. As to 9/11 I remember very clearly the Celtic fan who did the 9/11 airplane gesture to Caludio Reyna during an Old Firm match while he was taking a corner. So I think it is fair to say we both have our idiots.

  23. Jack says:

I was dumb founded that not one person could shut their stupid face for damn minute! I an American and I was severely embarrassed.

And I do agree that NJ is the asshole of American especially where that stadium is located.

  24. Chris also says:

Did anyone watch the Spanish matches the weekend after the Tsunami? No moment of silence anywhere. Masses of people being obnoxious. There’s always some twat no matter where you go. Everyplace is an armpit or an arsehole in the right light. If you can’t deal with it become a shut-in. I will attest to the fact that it’s fun to never leave your home and post comments on line all the time in lieu of actual social interaction.

  25. theredflag says:

This is pretty shitty, but unfortunately, quite common in ALL countries, not just America.

  26. Dan says:

I’m all for venting on the internet, but this labeling of nationalities states is retarded. I have yet to travel to any country devoid of assholes, and the only land masses that are exception to this rule have more penguins than anything else.

If it weren’t for seals, I’m pretty sure that even the penguins would piss on each other too.

  27. chet says:

I am American, but its this video and people like uncle sam that make me hate anything to do with U.S. soccer. As well as make me hate being American at times.

  28. says:

I’ve never been more ashamed to be American than at the moment when I heard that. I literally said “well, we deserve to lose the game now because of that asshole”. I still can’t believe that happened. From now on, I wouldn’t be surprised if foreign fans were to chant “9/11”, because that dick has made us all look bad. People around here are losing touch with civility and respect; half the fans at a sports event don’t even know to take off their hats for the national anthem anymore

  29. ph0bolus says:

    dumbass..

  30. ????? says:

    9/11 9/11 9/11

  31. Jimbo says:

good for you yanks that actually admitted that this is embarrassing. for those making excuses and going ‘yeah but OTHER fans do it!’ stop being so pathetic and coming up with excuses here and there and admit that this is an absolute disgrace

  32. pman says:

why was it so loud, besides that retard? any other game i’ve watched in the past couple of weeks (read a lot) were dead silent, besides the odd cough. pieces of crap need to learn how to respect things.

  33. ... says:

hahahahahahahahahaha ommmgggg that guy was standing like two seats behind me… but i was wwaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy too drunk to even start shit plus he was probably from jersey… totally messed up though… but come on drunk people say insensitive shit all the time… its only cause were yanks….

  34. Chumash says:

its AmeriKKKa, not fucking surprised at all! black, latino and american indians continue to be killed out here by these kkkrakkkers

  35. Tinez says:

apart from the fact that the opening line to this post is about an american fan, and not american fans in general, this is a stunningly ridiculous thread.

  36. rick says:

it was one of those “dont’ tread” kids…fucking punks.

  37. Uncle Sam says:

When the USNT team plays in Mexico they hear and see a lot worse then what that fan yelled. They throw bags of shit at the players. Now I’m saying that jerk off was right for yelling that but don’t bunch 80k people together saying all US fans are cunts. The Mexican fans chant 9/11 all the time does that make all Mexican fans ignorant? Not in the slightest. Don’t paint everybody with a broad stroke cuz of one asshole.
The thing that makes me laugh is the balls on the English supporters here. English hooligans disgrace themselves everywhere they go. Again does that make every English supporter bad? No just a select few.

  38. Dan says:

Chumash I am surprised you left out Jews, Muslims, and Asians (the target of this stupidity)…. Are you (Egad!!) racist? lol

  39. Andre says:

Another insane vocal minority who overshadows the sane silent majority. Do not give them any press; they are just twats.

  40. Burgerhead says:

Boom microphones surrounding the field and benefiting from the amphitheater effect of the stadium make the chatter seem like more than most moments of silence, but really isn’t. If you listen closely to similar moments from around the world (recorded on cell phones, etc.) you can here slight chatter, generally masked by the wind picked up by sh*t phone microphones, and even a few shouts.

The idiot who shouted, is just that an idiot. But to hear criticism, and generalizations about Americans, coming from any Englishman is a projection of the worst kind. Not only do you have these idiots in droves, as does every country (with the only country even close to this exception being Japan), but you named one your national team captain (remember John Terry post 9/11). So while many Americans have sought to distance themselves and countrymen from the actions of a petty drunk, to a largely English “football” audience, I don’t feel the need. At least we didn’t name this twat our national team captain. Stay classy JT.

  41. Scott says:

I’m also American and this is absolute chicken shit. No excuses coming from me because I can’t make any. Off topic, but this has become typical. We’re a xenophobic lot, so anything that takes the spotlight of the U.S. and is aimed at anything foreign is booed and disrespected. Obviously, we all aren’t assholes.

  42. ian says:

the bile being spewed forth in the comment section is shocking. as an american, i am embarrassed to be associated with such an idiot that would dishonor his own country and the people of japan by yelling such things during the moment of silence.

that said, a few posters on here are taking it a little far (to say the least) by grouping all americans with this idiot. Not all Americans are drunk assholes, and not all drunk assholes are american. What that person did is deeply offensive, I’m just surprised to see offensive comments about an entire nation in response to this. He should be ashamed of himself, but a few of the posters on here should be as well.

  44. Dweeb says:

I’ve been to three football matches since the Japanese Tsunami and not once have I heard whispering, muttering or jeering. I am an Englishman who while at the Millennium Stadium this weekend (cheering for Brazil) I watched a Brazilian man pretend to throw a banana onto the pitch three times before finally letting go… I think he was pointing and laughing at Kenny Miller when he did it… With that in mind when was the last time you were caught up in English football hooliganism? I’m 30 years old; I’ve gone to matches spanning two English divisions, European matches and international matches/competitions since I was 12 and the only trouble I’ve seen was during European and International ties. I personally blame the film industry for making our football fans seem out for violence when in fact my experience makes me know it’s the hatred towards English football fans which is the catalyst. I have personally witnessed an English family be targeted by Spanish fans, attacked by said fans and then beaten by the Policia simply because they were English and they have a reputation. So much of what happens today is media sensationalsm or spun so much the truth is washed out and all thats left is a lie put forth to create fear and hatred.

I’m not saying England doesn’t have arse holes, or violent arse holes. I’m saying the clear prejudice shown by many here is the reason violence erupts. It has nothing to do with John Terry being a drunken arse hole in an airport, or what happened in a war some 50 years ago – it’s about how we act and react as a society. With the evidence I say bring on the A-Bombs and wipe all our sorry, sad, self loathing, race hating and greedy ego’s off the planet and perhaps from the wreckage and smoke a being more capable of peace and love will evolve because we’ll never be it!

  45. King Eric says:

I reckon it was Mike “The Situation” and Snooki

  46. LukkLuck says:

Yanks should be banned from all soccer ball website’s.

Why has this country got so many kunts? all in one country. Not all americans are the same i must admit. But there is alot of absolute ball bags. Look at Borat the movie for an example.

  47. URINE says:

FUNNY… AMERICA IS FREE TO SAY WHATEVER THE HELL WE WANT… DRUNK OR NOT… IT’S ANOTHER EXCELLENT EXAMPLE THAT WE ARE FREE

    AWESOME

  48. LOL says:

All that (about half of) these comments show is how fucking full of shit and hypocritical (many) football/soccer fans are, regardless of nationality. God damn, no wonder why people say this is the sport of the common retard mouth breather.

To all those generalizing about other nationalities, based on an unrepresentative sample, who don’t realize you are hypocritically criticizing prejudicial people:

    Fuck off.

    To the rest of you:

    Carry on.

  49. Anti-Pussification League says:

When did everyone become a bunch of fucking pussies in this world.

  50. Veritas Semper says:

Too funny, all this nationalistic BS. Yanks are this, Brits are that… NJ is a pit, no doubt about that. There are morons in every country, no doubt about that. Morons attend sporting events along with the true supporters…ditto. The US has issues, no doubt, but really…England is being assulted by it’s own whiney-assed welfare babies and it’s rapidly becoming a third-world nation. Scotland still has to answer for releasing the Lockerbie Bomber after BP forced their hand. Most of the EU is about bankrupt and sponging-off Germany’s economy. FIFA and UEFA are corrupt and a bald Norwegian ref named Ovrebo can rot in hell.
Every country has it’s problem children…

  51. HIdeto says:

Yea this guy is really stupid, but you know, there’s a lot of type of person in the society…just like crazy prime minister of Japan… Japanese are REALLY appreciate for America’s great support at this disaster. the United States encourages the most of Japanese people. THANK YOU!
    Hideto from Yokota AFB JAPAN

  52. Anonymous says:

    fuck off!!

  53. R. J. says:

‘Ketoh’ and ‘Amekoh’, as Japanese term ‘Caucasian’ and ‘American’ in derogatory ways, have shown again how pathetic Americans are. This adds more to ill reputations of Americans in the views of Japanese in general. Japanese are far more intelligent and sophisticated than North Americans so that even drunken ones from Japan would never shout “Good Day Nine- Eleven” in the moment of silence. North Americans are already conceived as horribly fat dunces, so called White Pigs, in Japan. North Americans are considered as stench barbarians in Japan. This incident adds another line in North Americans resume.

  54. F says:

I know Americans are like that. I am not surprised at all.

  55. taka says:

hahaha, I know there could be some funny dunces anywhere in that places. But I got relieved you Americans or Amekoh sometimes lol seems to start to calm down a bit from shock of this Great East-Japan Earthquake.

It’s OK here so don’t get nervous and encourage us, specially Tohoku people for years to come, with anything even if it might be stuff like that.

  56. SH says:

There are some stupid people everywhere.
It is a pity, but it is a fact.

On the other hand more than 10,000 American soldiers are looking for dead bodies every day.
A 24-year old American teacher was dead by Tsunami. Her father and her boyfriend visited Japan. We are very sorry for seeing them and impressed by their attitudes.
    We know good Americans too.

Generally speaking Japanese will never forget all kindness given from the USA (and other countries, of course).
God bless you America and all other countries.

    From Tokyo

  57. Ag says:

I am a Japanese living in London.
When I went to a premier league match at White Hart Lane on the 20th of March after about a week from earthquake/tsunami, I saw the literal 1 minute silent prayer that was so impressing and encouraging me. That is something I won’t forget and you cannot imagine how I am proud of myself as a great football fan. England is a motherland of hooligans with a bunch of chants making fool of others but they are still modest enough to know that there is no reason to give a damn to any third party.
American friends, please don’t call the fanatic audience neither football fans nor nationalists. 1) They don’t respect the very spirit of football. 2) The US government and military service have been making great efforts with dignity in the sites hit by earthquake/tsunami and Japanese people appreciate a lot for their work there. This is something that American people should be proud of.
I’m sure that majority of Americans are people who are willing to help others who need helping hands. It is no matter the colour of skin of the president, or the gender of the secretary of state. You’d better not to call the crazy guys nationalists. Calling them idiots is fair enough in this case.

  58. Roger says:

Brits are just bitter people with an inferiority complex. That’s why they use any pretext to vent out their frustrations. Any rational-minded knows one person doesn’t respresent a whole strata of people, “mate”. Honestly, I think their inferior complex stems from the feeling that a country with little history or age has supersceeded their own nation in terms of accomplishments and rankings. Although they’ll probably deny it. That’s why they need things like “Rule Britannia!!” to boost their moral and the “Royal Wedding” to become relevant.

I went to London for my 8th grade field trip, during the summer, and it was gloomy, cold and misty. So if it’s like that during the summer, it must be like that all year. The reason I point that out is because that may be at fault to why their people are so bitter, cold, and unhappy. It may be due to “seasonal depression disorder”. They’re jealous of our sunlight, especially if you (me) live in California.

  59. nak says:

Screw the English! Ef the effing Queen. Stay out of America you stinking Limeys. As if John Terry didn’t make insensitive remarks after 911 and a bunch if stupid classless englishmen didn’t boo the us anthem during the floyd ass kicking session of that stupid english bloke

  60. nak says:

America the asshole of the world? That small country England has spread the most hate since mankind. Slavery, apartheid the list goes on.

  61. nak says:

America the asshole of the world? You stupid inferior lack of proper dental work english fuck. That small country has spread the most hate since the history of mankind can you say slavery, apartheid. How long did your evil reign in India, Hong Kong, Africa. Go brush and floss you stupid english mental midgets

  62. nak says:

Oneof you Limeys labeled the US as racist. Well for all the problems we may have (many other countries as well) we know have a black President. Will the world ever see a non pale faced Royal family in England? A non pale faced Prime minister? Shut your pie holes. Chris Wright you are dog shit
