After falling behind in the tenth minute, goals from Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema saw Real Madrid come from behind to beat Galatasaray 2-1 on their own patch to win the Santiago Bernabeu Trophy last night – though the ‘goal’ of the night belonged to Angel Di Maria, who saw his 25-yard, postage stamp-seeking missile ruled out for offside…

God damn, that’s a sweet strike.

There’s an interesting sideline from the game against Gala, in that apparently Jose Mourinho dropped Iker Casillas to the bench after the ‘keeper had the temerity to ring Xavi and Carles Puyol after the last Clasico ended in various skirmishing and eye-gougery to apologise for Real’s conduct.

How about that?

It had some nice bend, but hitting the bar and ricocheting in is more luck than skill.

    Ah yes, Ángel Di María.

A true future potential Sex God.

Oh come on, the defence and goalkeeper had stopped playing ages before he struck the ball!

What?! That was an awesome shot whether you’re marked or not. But, oh right, I bet you can do that all the time when you’re not marked.

p.s. was that Eboue on the assist for the first goal? Kazam!

If that’s true then Mourinho’s a bigger dickhead than people have claimed. All this “them against us” siege mentality shit and his own ego has blinded him to common professional courtesy.

Casillas, as the captain of the Spanish national team, was probably just trying to smooth things over with his fellow senior (and integral) team members so as not to let the Barca/Real animosity spoil the harmony in the squad. And you bench him for that?! He’s got bigger kahunas and much respect for extending the olive branch, mate.
