Two Persepolis players, Mohammed Nosrati and Sheis Rezaei, have been banned from entering any and all Iranian stadiums after partaking in a post-goal ‘bum grope’ celebration during the Persian Gulf Cup match with Damash Gilan – a match that was broadcast live to a vast audience in the staunchly conservative Islamic county…
Rezaei has also been fingered for ‘hugging a teammate too intimately’ (at least, that what it says here) following a goal later in the game, with both players’ conduct being deemed ‘immoral’ by the Iranian FA.
As such, both Nosrati and Rezaei have been banned from football for an ‘indefinite period’ and told that they will be prosecuted and face further sanctions if they attempt to enter, let alone play in, any other of the country’s stadiums.
