West Ham United 3-0 Hull City – Premier League – 18th January 2015
West Ham moved to within four points of a Champions League berth after an impressive win at Upton Park on Sunday.
All the goals came in the second-half, courtesy of Andy Carroll, Morgan Amalfitano (courtesy of a clever chip) and Stewart Downing as the home side proved too good for an injury-ravaged Hull outfit. The Tigers rarely threatened the West Ham goal, although Ahmed Elmohamady did fail to the make the most of a decent chance in the first period. However, overall Sam Allardyce’s charges were well worth the win.
The Hammers go seventh while Steve Bruce’s strugglers are now third from bottom and in real trouble.
