Poor old David Gold is no stranger to the footballing faux-pas, and on Wednesday, the West Ham chairman committed a right old blunder on Twitter.
In welcoming new-signing Pedro Obiang from Sampdoria, Gold Tweeted a photo of Juventus defender Angelo Ogbonna, resplendent in his Italian national team jersey. That Azzurri shirt should’ve been a dead giveaway, considering Obiang is a Spanish U21 international.
The similarity is uncanny…
Anyway, Gold eventually realised his mistake and re-posted his message like this…
