Darren Bent has enjoyed a fine career in the upper echelons of English football, lining out for the likes of Charlton, Spurs, Sunderland and Aston Villa as well as chalking up 13 appearances for England.

Now 32, the striker is lining out for Championship side Derby County, and according to his superb goal for the Rams on Saturday, the forward hasn’t lost his touch in front of goal.

With Derby winning 1-0 away at Wolves, Bent ran on to a chipped Will Hughes through-ball before hammering home a magnificent volley which gave ‘keeper Andy Lonergan no chance…

What a cracker!

And it’s nice to see such a gifted goal-getter as Bent still knocking them in.
