Wolves will return to the Premier League next season after Fulham could only draw with Brentford on Saturday.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, who face Birmingham on Sunday, watched on TV as a last-gasp equaliser from Neal Maupay earned Brentford a point at Craven Cottage, a result which meant Wolves are now assured of top-flight football next season for the first time since 2012.

A bit too much mobile phone action going on there for our liking!

In the years since their last Premier League adventure, Wolves dropped down as far as League One.

However, under the direction of former Porto boss Nuno, the club has turned into a top-class outfit, playing some superb football, with the likes of Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves adding the requisite class.

By far the best side in the Championship this season, Wolves’ slick brand of football have kept them top of the table since mid November.

Off the pitch, the west Midlands side have been heavily financed by Chinese owners Fosun, who will now see the club line out with the big boys in 2018/19, with the squad looking well-equipped for top-flight action.

Wolves need just four points from their remaining four games to secure the Championship title, something few would argue they don’t deserve.
